Some years ago, Thomas O'Brien noticed that
at the end of the day he never had a place to properly store his favorite
watch. As his watch collection grew, and he met other watch collectors,
he discovered that many shared his need for a place to store and protect
their valuable timepieces. That need that led him to found the Venlo
Company.
Florence, Italy, known worldwide for its fine
leather goods, was his first destination for beginning the research
necessary to create the finest case possible. His mission was clear-cut
from the outset; combine the four elements that were to him most important:
unmatched quality, functionality, superb craftsmanship, and classic
style.
In the fall of 2000 the Venlo Company launched
its first line of leather watch cases. Within a year Venlo was known
within the watch community as a leading brand of luxury cases. The
following year saw an expansion of the product formula to leather
pen cases, which quickly became a favorite among pen fanciers and
collectors.
It has now been more than seven years since
O'Brien founded Venlo, and the fine craft house has evolved into a
luxury case specialist. In addition to the extensive line of watch
and pen cases, the company now provide storage and display solutions
that include dresser valets, humidors, stationery boxes, cufflink
and poker chip cases.
Today, product offerings include the original
Italian Leather Collection from Florence, as well as the newly introduced
Exotic Wood Collection from Thailand. Throughout its success and growth
one thing has remained constant; the mission to deliver unmatched
quality, functionality, superb craftsmanship and classic styling.
Offered in two very distinct finishes, the
Burled and Teakwood pen chests are absolutely stunning. All handcrafted,
they have received multi coats of lacquer and then have been vigorously
hand polished to showcase their rich natural tones. Richly lined,
the interiors house holding channels designed to secure the larger
writing instruments of today.
