With the first significant departure from the mainstay Souveran design, in almost forty years, Pelikan introduces the Ductus Collection, a classically elegant series of writing instruments, in a fashionable combination of metal and high-grade resin. A modern interpretation of Pelikan's signature pinstripe design that for fifty years has formed the core of its broad range of chirographic instruments, the theme is reversed, with pinstriped cap, rather than barrel. So far it appears in formal dress only, with either white-tie silver trim, or the gold of royalty.
The fountain pen, with a rhodanized 18 carat/.750 gold nib, and an innovative cartridge filling system, is complimented by rollerball and ballpoint, all with a heft to them that also breaks somewhat from its predecessors.
