Though, technically speaking, an addition to the Artista Perma series, the new Arista Wild Stripe Collection from Monteverde really stands by itself, due to their exclusive Laminata process, in which specially formulated, liquid acrylic resins are poured and cured layer-by-layer. When the layers have finished curing, the slab of acrylic is hand-cut, lathed, and polished to a beautiful luster. This time-consuming technique produces a fascinating finish with bands of translucent colors separated by solid black and white, that ever so subtilely conjures a sense of Harlequin, and commedia dell'arte, in a festival of colour. The ballpoint can be converted to roller; the rollerball utilises all of the standard Perma refills; and the fountain fills via cartridge.
