Though his name is recognised around the globe, and his most widely known work, Pygmalion, was made truly famous worldwide by the Broadway musical based upon it, My Fair Lady, George Bernard Shaw, the man, nonetheless remains something of an enigma, outside of literary circles. An Irish dramatist and satirist who influenced several generations of authors, Shaw was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925. Inspired by the touching, and sometimes heartrending, personal transformation of the urchin, flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, the latest Montblanc Writers Edition, the George Bernard Shaw Limited Edition Collection, conjures the Irish countryside in green marbled lacquer, with the fountain nib engraved with a bouquet, paying tribute to Miss Doolittle. 16,000 LeGrand size, piston-fed fountains, with 18kt nib, have been crafted. Also available are 18,000 ballpoints, and 4,000 FP/BP/MP sets, all with mother of pearl Montblanc stars on the cap crowns.
